How I Can Help
Administrative Support That Builds Your Congregation's Capacity — Not Its Dependence
I work part-time — but part-time hours don’t have to mean part-time results. My approach is to collaborate with your staff, volunteers, and leaders to build the teams, systems, and processes that get things done together. I figure out what needs to happen, find and develop the people who can do it, create the tools that keep everyone coordinated, and step in personally where gaps remain. The result is a congregation with greater administrative capacity than my hours alone could ever provide.
My Services
Digital Systems and Process Development
Good systems multiply what people can do together. I work with your people to assess your congregation’s digital tools and workflows, set up or migrate platforms like Google Workspace, WordPress, Constant Contact, Zoom, and ClergyTech, and build the processes that help your team coordinate effectively. I train the people who will use and maintain these systems — so the capacity stays with your congregation long after any specific engagement ends.
HR & Onboarding
Bringing someone new onto your staff should feel welcoming, not chaotic. I collaborate with your leadership to manage the full onboarding process — job postings, applicant screening, personnel policy, background checks, LiveScan, and required trainings. Where regulations require specific expertise — like California AB 506 — I research the requirements, identify the right vendors, and build the processes your team can carry forward.
Worship Infrastructure
Great worship doesn’t happen without a strong operational foundation. I work with your worship team to build and maintain the systems that support dual-platform and in-person worship — Orders of Service, Service Slides, pulpit communications, and the collaborative processes that keep everyone coordinated week to week. The goal is a worship infrastructure your team owns and operates together.
Board & Staff Support
Your board and staff deserve clear, well-organized administrative support. I prepare reports and recommendations, maintain internal and public-facing records, support contract and vendor relationships, and assist with budget development and tracking. I also help identify which of these functions can be built into your volunteer and staff capacity — and which ones need consistent hands-on attention..
Compliance & Governance
Staying compliant is non-negotiable — and the landscape keeps changing. I research requirements, monitor regulatory changes, and manage CA Secretary of State filings, property tax exemption, OSHA, music and Time for All Ages licensing, insurance review, bylaw guidance, and UUA protocol compliance. Where compliance tasks can be delegated and trained, I build that capacity. Where they require specialized attention, I handle them directly.
Interim Administration
Staff transitions happen — and they don’t have to derail your congregation. I provide experienced, reliable administrative coverage during vacancies, leaves of absence, or periods of congregational growth. Because I understand UU culture from the inside, there is no learning curve on values, language, or governance — I can step in and be useful from day one. And wherever possible, I use the interim period to build capacity your congregation will keep.
How We Can Work Together
My consulting rate is $65/hour. I am also available for project-based and monthly retainer arrangements — which can be a more predictable option for congregations with ongoing needs.
Engagements typically take one of three forms:
Project-based — A defined scope of work with a clear beginning and end. Examples: setting up your Google Workspace, building an onboarding process, or conducting a compliance review.
Retainer — Ongoing part-time support at an agreed number of hours per month. This works well for congregations that need consistent administrative presence without a full staff hire.
Interim — Coverage during a staff transition or leave of absence, for an agreed period of time.
I am not currently seeking full-time employment. My availability is up to approximately 20 hours per week, distributed across one or more engagements.
